The Desmos API is currently experiencing downtime. We rely on Amazon’s storage service, S3, to host static files that are used to serve our website, including the public API. This service is experiencing an outage.

Customers who host the API themselves will be unaffected, because the calculator API does not communicate with our servers once it is loaded.

We are working to restore service, and will keep you posted as we have more details.

We have restored partial service on desmos.com, including the public API. We believe that this will restore service for all of our partners.

There is a caching layer in front of the public API that cached some bad responses during the downtime, so it's possible that you will continue to see errors for calculator.js. That cache is in the process of being cleared, so if correct responses are not showing up already, they should automatically start appearing soon.

The outage of AWS S3 continues, so many of our non-critical features are still down.

Update: full service has been restored on desmos.com, including the public API.

Full service was restored approximately 2 hours ago (3:45 PST), but some of the tools that we use for bringing up new servers were working very slowly, and so it was hard to be fully confident that the service would remain available. Our infrastructure tools all appear to be functioning normally now.

Our sincere apologies for the downtime we experienced today.
