Calibration at power up

I have a couple of issues getting started up with CHM T36VA.  First of all, when I turn the machine on it doesn't go through the auto calibration.  Also, I got the software to start without claiming serial port issues, but I still don't get comms from serial.  The camera shows up, but that is essentially the only interaction that I get.  I found the topic of the comms issues, and I will use it to troubleshoot.  Though I am still stumped as to why the initial calibration/homing function doesn't occur at startup.

The calibration is initiated by a command from the PC software via the serial port. It appears your serial port is not setup correctly. I used a current model USB to serial adapter and manually set the correct port based.
