Hi

I have spent some time looking at both kits and something like a CHT36VA, YY1 and similar models and it feel's like a hard choice. I have a new startup and need something capable of making small batches from time to time (200-500 units in a week) with a okay reliability. I am not really interested in developing a new PnP machine, but some tweaking is fine (but a fast setup time is best). I want to know if there is anyone who has bought a PnP machine that has served them well for 3500 euros or under (Including feeders). I need around 20 feeders with a maximum size of 24 mm for two of my components.

Thanks,

Oscar

Well,

I do have CHT36VA. I have tested it extensively with original software and started conversion toward OpenPnp ( although not finished).
But getting to your questions:
- All machines which do not have separate feeders will have much longer and nasty setup ( it is just tricky with combined feeders, especially cover tape). But it defiantly works and it is good start.
- Even if you have feeders, high components are problematic ( usually 6..8mm is the limit). Mostly because of several compromises made with head height and feeder design.

I decided to go with something like Pandaplacer or ( most likely) Bing Luo machine ( I do have  Prusa XL and Voron , so printing parts is fast, cheap and easy) as modifying CHT36VA for separate feeders would be time consuming.

I have CHT36VA cheaply for sale ( in mid conversion  - all parts ready, you would need only controller board - e.g. one of Duet boards)   - you could play with it to make up your mind ( send me PM if interested)
