Announcements: December 2007

Vermont Design Professionals,

Our December meeting will be held at 6:30 on Wednesday, December 12,
at the bottom of Church Street in front of City Hall.

Please be on time, as our group will be moving from that location. If
you haven't been to a meeting yet and don't know anyone who will be
attending, be sure to let us know ahead of time so we can look out for
you.

DECEMBER MEETING
December 12: (Sell)ebrating the Holiday Season
Where is the line between celebrating vs outright selling? How do we
deal with the cultural differences in religious traditions? What are
the design trends this year? Take a walk downtown, experiencing and
critiquing the design of the season. We'll discuss what we see and
other relevant topics.

Given weather and group disposition, we may elect to walk indoors
through the Burlington Town Center or stop for warm beverages.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Three events are currently being planned for future meetings:
- There is a possibility that a representative from Adobe will be able
to talk with us about CS3 and other Adobe products.
- One or more of Sappi's ETC sessions may be available to us. These
include sessions on Paper Essentials, Varnish Techniques, and Direct
Mail.

For both of the above sessions, VDP is likely to partner with the AIGA
New Hampshire/Vermont chapter.

- VDP may also merge a meeting with Green Drinks. Green Drinks (http://
greendrinks.org/) is an informal gathering, much like VDP, focused on
environmental issues. As a group and with others in attendance, we can
discuss environmentalism in design and the impact and social
responsibility of green design.
