My company ordered a 42" belt for our DesignJet 500 PS, and it arrived pronto. The installation of the belt was more involved than I expected, but I used the videos on the order page to help me through.

On power up, though, the plotter display shows an 11:11 code.  An internet search referred me to the trailing cable.  I examined the trailing cable, and indeed two or three foil connectors were lifted on the right side of the front cable.  I must have damaged it during disassembly/reassembly.  Am I correct that I need to replace the cable to clear an 11:11 code?  Any chance that further damage was done to the plotter by powering up with a bad cable?

Thanks,

Mark

The service error on a hp designjet 500 series printer indicates the trailing cable is bad and needs replaced. Fortunately on this model, the main electronics module can not be damaged as well. Replacement trailing cable and 'how to' video can be found at my website, designjetpartsfast.com.
