Felt Pad that comes with a new service station?

I am replacing the service station on a T2300 after getting the maintenance kit #2 needed message. The service station had a thick white felt pad in a bag taped to it. Q5669-00248 part number on the bag.

I dont see in the service manual any mention of it? I see the service station has a lot of felt pads in it. But is this a spare for later or does it need to go in now and where?

The vendor texted me - it is for older models that had it on the bottom of the right cover to catch ink drips, not needed for this model. Thanks
