Got issue with HP Designjet T770 44inch.
Printer Service station was bad and wasn't working. It was replaced with new Genuine HP station(with drop detect sensor).
After calibrating drop sensor. Machine was asking for Yellow printhead. I had to turn off the machine from main power till the printhead arrived. Before new head was installed machine was started but kept cycling for a hour and than error 79:04.
I upgraded the firmware using a boot memory stick with firmware but the error kept showing after the machine sandclock was spinning. Tried to boot without ink and printheads (maybe machine detect they are missing) but still 79:04 error.
I suspect Hard Drive crashed,
Can I reset the printer or format the hard drive while machine will not enter to ready or give me "Menu" option?
Any way to duplicate hard drive?

Thanks

The Designjet T770 hard disk OS is HP-UNIX.
There is no easy way to duplicate the hard disk.

Also, once a disk is installed in the printer, it is married to that printer. Hence, used hard disk are not going to help.

I have seen 79:04 errors resolved by replacing the hard disk with a new one.

I have them available at my website designjetpartsfast.com.

Here is the direct link to the Designjet T770 hard disk:

More information on the behavior of the Designjet T series formatter board and hard disk can be found on my youtube channel.
