Description:
As
an Industrial Designer at Benchmark Electronics, you are required to
lead, develop, and coordinate new product design concepts integrating
human factors, product brand, materials and manufacturing processes,
and two and three dimensional design knowledge into accessible,
attractive and serviceable products. You will also be required provide
strategic designs services for corporate, engineering project teams,
and customers. Knowledge and skill in website design and development is
a plus.
Functions of this position include:
• Leading,
creating, and developing product design concepts considering human
factors, product brand, manufacturing methods, cost, and ease of
service, aesthetics, appropriate materials and competitive products
• Coordinating design activities with project team members
• Providing tactical design support for existing products
• Facilitating production artwork for product labels and associated graphic materials
•
Creating product concept sketches, product illustrations, models, and
other graphic materials as required to Project Management, Marketing
and Engineering
• Product User Manual design and production coordination
• Coordinating vendor production of models and printed graphic materials
• The position requires a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent
• Practical experience of 5 or more years, preferably in commercial or high-tech products, medical a plus
• Project management experience required
• Comprehensive knowledge of two and three-dimensional design
• Knowledge of human factors and their product applications
• Knowledge of CAD application required
• Current knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge and skill in written and oral presentation and communication techniques
• Website development experience a plus
