so weather your an apple fan or not, you can't help but see and hear all about the new iPhone 4G right now.
since it's release it has been plagued with problems, and criticisms by some, and praised and reveared by others.
and weather your a fan of it or not, it is an impressively engineered piece of hardware, in a very thought out, and cleanly designed form.
below are two articles about the design of the new phone.
one from Jonathan Ive's point of view as the designer, and one from the consumers point of view.
they both see many similar things, but they end in very different places, with very different conclusions.

http://gizmodo.com/5572546/design-test-note-fragile-beauty
is the designers sole job to make a timeless, beautiful object?
is it irresponsible to not take into account the end users interaction
with an object?
in the end i feel its up to the individual to decide.
but in my opinion the user is king. and if you make something they can't use, it doesn't matter how beautiful it is. it will make there lives miserable.
