Hey there, from long long ago!
My *borrowed* CS2 has finally crapped out...and I'm thinking it's about time I join the big boys and buy myself a copy. I see the world's gotten itself up to CS5.5 -- has anyone used it? Any recommendations: where to buy, how, etc...?
Thanks, design friends :)
Cheers,
Renata

make friends with someone who works at adobe, and have them pick you a copy up in the company store... this was a few years ago, but supposedly they get a killer discount. :)
im still on cs4. don't know what cs5 has different.

Supposedly you can subscribe to CS5 now. It's about $30 a month but I heard there are a TON of bugs.
Still an interesting option.

I love CS5. no problems, no bugs (that I've noticed)
I'd suggest getting the education copy - fully featured but substantially less. I got it for $340 (full suite including Flash) at the RIT bookstore, but any college with a design school will have it

No, CS5 as a program is fine, it's the subscription method (paying $30 a month) as opposed to just buying the entire suite for one lump sum that has had errors happening. IE losing access after you shut down your computer for the day etc.
