Hello,

Anyone out there with a development or production system that has
rev'd up to D3 Version 9 ?

I'd like to hear your experience with it, especially what effect has
been observe with respect to the changes in responsiveness and form
rendering time for DesignBais developer's environment. And, how does
managing the environment with D3's now native .net connections compare
to the Mv.Net way??

Thanks for your time.

Hi Jim,
I recently moved from db [an earlier version, I forget which] on UV to dbv6 on d3/Win all on the same machine. The process was a little painful, but not too bad: BUT it was well worth it! db absolutely screams along. Forms render in the blink of an eye, response times are staggeringly good. I mean the comparison between my old UV system [whcih I hated] and the d3/win version is like comparing a push-bike to a Porsche!

There are still a few 'gothca's in db; I think, and some documentation could be better; but it is really a great environment to work in and a pleasure to use. All of the work I had done in UV [eventually] migrated to db error-free and works - just faster! Now I'm not saying db is perfect; for example the db editor is broken effectively in d3win; but that's not a biggie; and there is something funny going on with variable not assigned a value in BAWEBEXEC; which the team has yet to get back to me on; but it definitely works.

Cheers,

David.
