well, our old, tired Windows 2003 server bit the dust on Friday.  hard disk failure. Even RAID level 5 wouldn't bring it back.

I sent an urgent email to support in Designbais Australia on Friday, but as usual they have not responded yet.

So i'm having to build up a new virtual server in our rack, Windows 2012R2.  Its been a few years since I first did this.  I have DbSysMan.msi uploaded and installed, but can't find where to obtain uniobjects.exe.   Anybody have a clue where to get this on the Rocket website?

The toolkit can be downloaded from the Rocket web site

https://rbc.rocketsoftware.com/matrix.asp

Product = UniVerse or Unidata

Platform = Windows

Click on ‘Search’

Look for your release in the downloads columns

Click on ‘Client(s)’

In the Download column

Click  on U2 Client to start the download

Click on U2 DBTools to start the download

I found the designbais uniobjects.exe here:

if you click on the line:

Your database connection object (e.g. Uniobjects) has been installed on the web server.

Now i'm trying to run DesignBais SiteBuilder 6.6.3 on Windows Server 2012R2, and it starts with the following error:

Error 800401E4(Automation error
invalid syntax) occurred

and in the "Select Website" box the only option is "Combo1".  It is not showing the website configured in IIS.

It would be nice is DesignBais Support would step up and help, since our entire production application is down and we have users screaming to get it back online or else...

Hi Bobby,
I have found the documentation on the Web component side of things to be correct, but personally confusing and hard to read. But it IS all there, although sometimes not in explicit detail. Thus one has to apply a level of interpretation [sometimes] to what is written. I find one has to jump around from section to section.

I have not done so yet, but have come close to writing my own 'check-list' of things which need to be done on the Web side of things to make it all work. I am specifically speaking of db with d3/win; so perhaps things are different with Universe.

I cannot say why you did not get a response, as my experience has been I do get responses to urgent issues like this.

Not sure if this helps you or not?

D

Thanks, David.

I want to give everyone an update.    Thanks to all the help from Andrew Morris, Greg Joannou and Bulent Can from Designbias/BAIS - and also Martyn Parlane, our new Windows Server 2012 R2 is configured, and up and running.  We are back online !
