[Contract, Turkey / India / Taiwan / Lithuania] Design and innovation coach for cities

About the role 

We’re looking for design and innovation coaches based in India, Turkey, Taiwan or Lithuania with English & Hindi, Turkish, Taiwanese or Lithuanian language skills. Coaches who have worked with senior public sector officials and who can work with us over the next 4 months on a new, exciting and ambitious project. 

The project will support cities around the world to harness learning and innovation that has emerged from the Covid pandemic over the past 12 months. The role of the design and innovation coaches will be to work directly with a small number of cities to develop ideas and opportunities that can help them as they begin moving into recovery. 

Over the next 4 months you will work directly with cities to support them to bring their ideas into reality, exploring ways for them to test and iterate potential innovations. You’ll act as a critical sounding board to them, supporting them through a design-led process and answering any questions they may have about the programme or their ideas. 

The programme will be fast paced and will have global reach.

What you’ll be doing 

Participating in a short training session to bring you up to speed with the programme, the cities and the workshop agenda Leading the facilitation of a design process with city teams with varying levels of experience in the application of this methodology Being a source of support and guidance for the city teams, offering practical support and answering any follow-up questions cities may have Sharing learning and insight back with the programme team to help improve programme delivery and overall design of the programme.

What to expect from FutureGov 

We’ll provide you with all the training, materials and context you need to confidently support the cities Support you through the process, answer questions and help unblock any challenges that arise over the next 4 months, support you to feel part of a community of practice of international coaches, to share learning and insight across the network 

What is the ask of design and innovation coaches 

You will be available to start on the programme, taking part in a 2-3 hour training session, from w/c 7th June (dates to be confirmed). Ideally you will be available between 8 days a month over the next 4 months.

You’ll need to be responsive in your communication and contact with us so we can quickly match coaches to relevant cities and get started immediately.

What type of experience and background are we looking for?

• Have 5+ years of experience in the field of design and innovation, and ideally in public sector innovation
• Good experience within the Indian/Turkish/Taiwanese/Lithuanian Public Sector
• Be confident facilitators and comfortable holding senior-level relationships with government officials and innovation teams
