HI all

Center for Civic Design has 3 job postings, all full time, remote US only, temporary positions for 2022 (possibility of extending)

As a civic design researcher with strong UX generalist skills, you will lead design research and workshops with voters, community organizations, and elections offices in search of ways to more effectively invite people to participate in elections in an idea we call Elections 360.  You will also conduct usability testing of new election materials from registering to vote to ‘curing’ a mistake on a mail-in ballot, and collaborate with the CCD team as we work to reimagine elections.

Tou will use your information design and UX generalist skills to improve the voter experience, focused on access for voters who face barriers to voting: who speak other languages, have disabilities, or don’t read well, solving wicked problems to make it easier for voters to vote the way they intend. The work includes designing new approaches to the voter experience, from registering to vote to ‘curing’ a mistake on a mail-in ballot. And, creating information tools and templates to help raise the civic design capacity in elections.

We’re looking for someone to join our team with a unique mix of skills and experience in communications and storytelling. Help us share our success stories, make our toolkits easier to use, and communicate what we learn in our research with the world.  As a storyteller, you will work on the communications lead to write stories and case studies online, on social media, and for presentations. You will update the website and create toolkits to share CCD’s best practices, templates, and other materials with election administrators across the country.
