For Michigan

Multimedia Producer Job Description

Overview

There are over 80 colleges and universities in the state of Michigan, with nearly half a million students. Founded in 2024, For Michigan organizes students across the state to turn out in critical statewide and local elections. In 2024, our program broke campus turnout records, with more votes cast in campus precincts than in 2020, 2016, or 2012.

Building on that success, For Michigan’s 2026 campus mobilization program is investing in a statewide digital content structure driven by student-created content. Our goal is to empower thousands of students to lead their peers in registering, pledging, and voting—ensuring historic youth turnout in the 2026 midterms.

About the Role

We are looking for a Graphic Designer or Multimedia Producer to help create bold, engaging, and culturally relevant visuals that support our organizing work across campuses. The Graphic Designer will cross-functionally support For Michigan’s digital and organizing teams by producing compelling visual content for social media, digital campaigns, and campus organizing efforts.

You will work closely with the Digital Director, Deputy Digital Director, and Regional Social Media Managers to translate campaign messaging into visually engaging assets that resonate with college students. This role will help define our creative identity while actively producing content each week. This role is ideal for someone who thinks in campaign arcs, visual systems, and cultural strategy — not just individual posts or content streams.

Help evolve the visual identity of For Michigan’s digital program

Who You Are

Experience designing graphics for a variety of social media platforms

Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar tools

An understanding of what performs well on Instagram and TikTok

Ability to design content that is clear, engaging, and shareable

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain visual consistency

Interest in civic engagement, elections, and youth organizing

Bonus if you have:

Experience designing political or advocacy content

Experience creating meme-style or trend-based graphics

Familiarity with youth-focused or Gen-Z digital culture
