IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) - Digital Services User Experience (UX) Designer

As an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) - Digital Services User Experience (UX) Designer at the GS-2210-14 level, you will be part of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for implementation of the Postal Service Reform Act by planning, designing, and implementing technology solutions.

Duties
  • As a User Experience (UX) Designer, identifies and proposes solutions to business problems which are characterized by their breadth, importance, and severity, and for which current and previous techniques are inadequate.
  • Leads teams to research, design, and test modern digital products and services that meet customer and business needs.
  • Champions user-centered design and development practices across the agency.
  • Promotes the use of modern technology development and management approaches, drawing upon best practices from the technology industry such as open source and agile development.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the product delivery lifecycle using modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Aligns customer experience strategy to the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Requirements / Conditions of Employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see https://www.sss.gov/Home/Registration)
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
  • Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required
  • This position is eligible for inclusion in the bargaining unit.
  • if the duty station is finalized in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, employees in this position will be represented by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 32. (BU Code - 2286)
  • if the duty station is finalized outside of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, this position will not be represented by a bargaining unit. (BU Code - 7777)
Salary: $116,393 - $151,308 per year

As an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) - Digital Services Product Manager at the GS-2210-14 level, you will be part of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for implementation of the Postal Service Reform Act by planning, designing, and implementing technology solutions.

Duties
  • Creates and communicates digital product strategies.
  • Identifies and resolves highly complex problems that cross organizational boundaries and promulgates solutions.
  • Leads the development of Service Blueprints (i.e., product roadmaps), detailed business process maps, and the scope of product releases.
  • Serves as a SME panel member in Product Management and Digital Services for OCIO hiring and technical evaluation for procurements.
  • Participates in OCIO IT governance bodies to provide advisement and support cultural change for IT team to becoming a 21st Century technology organization.
