Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Infographic Designer and Artist contractor to create a series of visually compelling and informative infographics for an upcoming event. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and data communication, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling through visual elements.
Specifically, the ideal candidate will be able to create infographics that are each visually-captivating, edgy and sharp yet beautiful and data-driven in a style that references W.E.B. Du Bois’ work.
Responsibilities:
- Design a series of forty (40) clear, engaging, and visually appealing infographics that effectively communicate complex concepts and data provided by our team.
- Research and understand the historical context, related to W.E.B. Du Bois' “American Negro” exhibit at the 1900 Exposition Universelle (Paris Exposition) – the source inspiration for this series
- Collaborate with our team to understand the theme and objectives of the event.
- Ensure that all infographics maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring that final deliverables meet their expectations and requirements.
- Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work under tight time constraints.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing your infographic design skills.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and concepts visually.
- Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into concise and impactful visuals.
- Knowledge or familiarity with W.E.B. Du Bois' “American Negro” exhibit at the 1900 Exposition Universelle (Paris Exposition), or a willingness to learn about the historical context.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
Deadline for Applications:

Compensation:
$3,000 dollars with more additional compensation available if SOW increases.
