to anyone interested in deb files, try this:

http://desigle.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/debs/desigle_0.1-1_all.deb

and tell me if it works for you.
note that it requires ubuntu 9.04.

btw, it never made sense to me to create debs before because pypoppler
had no deb itself. and that was by far the hardest part of installing
desigle. but now (finally) 9.04 has "python-poppler".
