Hi,
I also believe that desigle deserves more attention than it was
receiving. I think that the 2-pane PDF preview is even more productive
than
preview-latex (where by mouse clicking, you can open the original
text and after editing, another click will just run the region in
question through LaTeX and redisplay the new results).
As I rarely have access to a computer, my advice to Alexander van der
Mey is that you should express how participants will communicate. The
summary of desigle-ng can be something like the following :
********************************************************
Desigle-ng is a simple latex editor with a PDF preview pane.
<image>
Features:
a PDF preview pane
spell checking
syntax highlighting
auto-completion
Installation :
download it from the Downloads tab
.deb
Users can also :
write feature requests to the wiki
report bugs as issues and join our google group to receive answers (and announcements) also in their mailbox
Developers can :
browse and review online the source code and of course checkout by running :
<svn checkout command>
History :
This
project is a fork of Desigle, established on the 20th of April 2009.
The original project has a few old bugs that have remained unresolved
for months now. My attempt at reaching the original author has remained
unanswered so far. Presuming he either lost interest or does not have
time for this project anymore, I decided to fork it. This fork is not
ill intended in any way, I simply believe desigle deserves more
attention than it was receiving.
Expect bug fixes & release packages for the mayor distributions soon, and hopefully new features later :)
********************************************************
My proposal is to write only on desigle-ng and not on both projects (desigle and desigle-ng).
With kind regards,
nickmeet
