WithMigrate Guru, you are limited to 5 site migrations per month. You can move these 5 sites unlimited times, though. This is likely more than enough for most users, and developers can apply to change this cap.

NS Cloner is specifically designed for WordPress multisite networks. It lets you take any existing site on your network and make a new, identical site with the same theme settings, plugins, and content.

We hope this article helped you learn about the best WordPress plugins to clone or duplicate a site. You may also want to check out our other WordPress guides that can help you clone or duplicate your website.

Thank you for the advice. I finally solved the problem by switching to another provider and setting up automatic backups using Duplicator. The problem is now resolved, and I can finally have peace of mind with fully automated backups. Thank you for your response, effort, and help.

For making backup for websites and cloning, I have used updraft plus and found it to be very good solution.

it comes with a lot powerful options to ensure smooth cloning of the website.

I have also been through reading duplicator reviews and tutorial and found it to be equally powerful that comes with tons of options.

I want to get an advice from you, can I charge for premium themes and plugins from customers explicitly by mentioning them?

Thanks for the lifetime coaching. Now that our hosting providers provide all these features like staging, backups, security, analytics etc. Do we still need all these functional plugins again for our wp websites?

Thanks

WPBeginner is a free WordPress resource site for Beginners. WPBeginner was founded in July 2009 by Syed Balkhi. The main goal of this site is to provide high quality WordPress tutorials and other training resources to help people learn WordPress and improve their websites.

You can also use it to backup, migrate or clone your site to/from local server hosting, to create backup of your site for development or testing purposes, and to install pre-configured backups of WordPress.

To migrate the website indirectly: Go to the Clone plugin screen, and upload the backup file to /wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/. After the upload, head back to Clone plugin menu, rescan the backup list, and continue with the restore of the specific backup file.

Clone plugin allows you to download backups, migrate backups, or delete backups directly from the plugin screen Manage & Restore Backup(s). By default, the migrator plugin will store a backup to /wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/ and you should upload Clone backups to that folder too.

Enabling automatic backups is not available in the Clone plugin, for that, we recommend the new Backup Migration plugin. There, auto backup can run on a monthly, weekly, or daily basis. You can set the exact time (and day) and how many automatic backups would should be kept.

Yes. You can create full site backups and clone your site (duplicate site) free of charge. Backup Migration Pro provides more sophisticated filters and selections of files that will be included/excluded from backups (affecting backup size), faster backup creation times, number of external backup storage locations, backup encryption, backup file compression methods, advanced backup triggers, additional backup notifications by email, priority support, and more.

To avoid manual work, such as setting up a fresh WordPress instance or a subdomain yourself, we recommend the new Backup Migration plugin. You can easily set up a staging environment for your website with the BackupBliss plugin. You can choose to create a staging site either on your server/machine or on TasteWP. Both options are free and super-easy to use!

Uploading a backup can be simply done via FTP or a simple plugin such as WP File Manager. Just navigate to the folder on your site /wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/ and drag-and-drop the backup file there. Remember to re-scan the folder from the Clone plugin menu, and the backup should appear on the list.

Ultimately, creating a clone (or duplicate) of your site can help you perform many necessary maintenance tasks. If you need to perform an update or implement new coding, you can simply clone your site to a local server. This gives you a functional copy to edit without affecting the live site.

When you want to make a copy of your site, simply create a new package. A package will compile your WordPress files, plugins, themes, content, and MySQL database into a single archive file. This instantly makes your website easy to move to a staging environment, different host, or new domain name.

As you build your first package, you can choose a custom cloud storage location to save your clone off-site. You can also add filters to the archive file to only include necessary data from your site.

Once you build your package, you can download it and move it to another location. As we mentioned earlier, the archive file will contain all the data for your site. The installer will help redeploy the archive in cPanel or a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client.

Using your new WordPress staging site, you can perform updates without breaking your live site. If a plugin or theme update causes a critical error, you can safely troubleshoot it. This prevents publishing live broken links and other issues that could put off your visitors.

The All-in-One WP Migration plugin was designed with beginners in mind. With one click, you can export your website and clone it to a different location. Similar to other WordPress migration plugins, All-in-One WP Migration also comes with backup and restore features.

Pricing: There is a free version of All-in-One WP Migration. You can also purchase premium extensions to increase the WordPress upload limit and integrate cloud storage services. These add-ons start at $69.

XCloner is a free plugin for backing up, migrating, and restoring websites. It supports both manual and automatic backups, so you can ensure that your site is secure. Unlike other backup plugins, XCloner can generate differential backups that only save changes after a certain time.

Using XCloner, you can sync a staging site to your live website. This tool can also be useful for migrating your content to a new host or domain name. If anything happens during a migration, there are rollback features to restore a backup without the error.

Pricing: You can download XCloner for free. If you want to pair the plugin with a web developer toolbox, you can integrate XCloner with Watchful. Watchful starts at $1.83 monthly for each site.

If you run a WordPress Multisite, you may not be able to find a cloning plugin that can support your network. With NS Cloner, you can solve this problem. This plugin can clone a subsite within your network and set it up as a new site with the same WordPress theme settings, plugin configurations, and content.

When you want to clone your live website to a staging site, you can use WP Migrate (formerly WP Migrate DB). This plugin can link your production and staging sites. Then, you can push and pull changes between them.

WP Migrate specializes in database migrations. Rather than having to manually export SQL files, this plugin makes it easier to export and import any database changes. Plus, it can also back up your database before migrations.

Unlike other migration tools, WP Migrate also allows you to sync your media library across different sites. You can choose to migrate the entire library or new uploads. This can save valuable time during development.

Yes, you can clone your WordPress site by installing a cloning plugin like Duplicator Pro. Simply create a package that contains all of your files, plugins, themes, media files, and database tables. Then, install this backup on a new server to clone the original site.

You can duplicate a page or parts of a page using SeedProd. This page builder allows you to copy specific content and paste it onto a new page. Plus, you can even export a page as a template, which can be used on a different WordPress site.

You no longer have to spend countless hours on the backend of your website trying to add custom code and test if the functionality is working, as you can install a plugin that will perform the task for you.

Creating a duplicate page, cloning a website, and migrating it to a new host are all routine actions in WordPress because the plugins allow you to complete the entire process in just a few easy steps.

Back in the early days of the Internet, website migration was a complicated multi-step process that required you to go through each time-consuming step manually. So, even a simple task like creating a WordPress duplicate page could take hours.

Although today you can clone WordPress websites automatically, it can be beneficial to understand how manual website migration works. Essentially, the process involves creating duplicate files on the old server and installing them on the new one.

Each of the steps above demands a high degree of technical knowledge and can take days to complete, but going through them once could help you understand website migration better and make your job easier in the long run.
