The movie begins with Sukhmeet (Sukhi) (Tusshar Kapoor) applying for an admission for his son, Kabootar, from a school. However, Principal Sethi (Rammakant Daayama) refuses to do so as Sukhi's son both has bad grades and is playing with a PSP even during the interview. But, in order to get admission, Sukhi bribes Principal Sethi, to which he gives positive responses. But, when Suki moves his tie sideways, Principal Sethi is able to see that behind it was attaches a transmitter. It is revealed that Ballu (Ranvir Shorey) and Sukhi were conducting a sting operation on the principal, and that the PSP Kabootar was holding was in reality a camera recording the whole interview in High Definition. Sukhi threatens to hand the recording right to the media, and if Principal Sethi wanted to happen otherwise, he was to pay the amount of 3 crores to Sukhi and Ballu.

As per their instructions, Sethi keeps the suitcase with money on the decided area and goes to collect the PSP. However, he is horrified to find a movie clip in the PSP, implying that they had fooled him and that they were going to publish the disreputable recording anyway. But, when he rushes to take the suitcase, a police car pulls over, and police officer Mintu Hasan (Vinay Pathak) take the suitcase, saying that it was one of the many suitcases in the area which were bearing bombs.

One obstacle it can't quite get past is the integration of the love interest. The character of Manpreet (Vishahka Singh), although she goes on to become more than just "the love interest" in terms of importance to the greater plot, isn't handled terribly well. She's introduced as a random pretty girl Sukhwinder (the above-mentioned Tusshar Kapoor) encounters in his daily business as a cable TV installer, and with whom he subsequently has a tuneful, slickly shot montage of dates. Suddenly, though, it's revealed that she's a choreographer substituting for her friend who was supposed to arrange a production number at Sabbarwahl's daughter's wedding. The scheme to take Sabbarwahl down (that hinges, crucially, on the wedding) appears nearly seamless, in the classic con/heist movie tradition, except for the elements involving Manpreet. Nearly every one of her contributions to the greater scheme, although successful, appear to be completely by chance. She's ultimately a reusable deus ex machina. This doesn't sink the movie, by any means, but business relating to her character accounts for the vast majority of the narrative and logical loose ends.

There are some films that seem to beg an audience to ignore them. Everything about them, from title to trailer, seems to be preparing the audience for disappointment. Like, for instance, a film that chooses a phrase like "bajatey raho" as its title and whose star cast is made up of Tusshar Kapoor and Ravi Kishan. As the auto-wallah who was taking me said, when I told him which film I was going to watch, "Thoda down market hai na?"

News flash: considering what's playing at the moment, Bajatey Raho is probably your best bet for a truly fun time at the movies. It's far from perfect, the soundtrack is mostly tuneless and the end is distinctly flat, but despite all this, the film holds your attention and makes you root for its heroes. And this is all thanks to some fine acting, a few hilarious setups and smartly-written dialogue.

Directed by Shashant Shah (who has directed largely forgettable movies till now), Bajatey Raho is the story of how a modest school of minnows take down a massive shark. Sabbarwal (Ravi Kishan) is a tycoon and a sleazy villain, as tycoons invariably are in our films. He's out to swindle the public in every possible way, from stealing their savings through dodgy investment schemes to selling adulterated milk.

However, unlike the over-the-top humor that we are subjected to in most films, the humor is understated in BAJATEY RAHO. In addition, Shashant and writer Zafar A. Khan stay true to the 'commercial format' of amalgamating just about every ingredient to quench the appetite of the entertainment-seeking spectator. Although the narrative is not without its share of dÃjà vu moments, Shashant does manage to dole out a fairly absorbing tale, more towards the second half of the movie.

Bajatey Raho is the kind of film that cuts for a good promo. It has the requisite visual elements coupled with a satirical song that hints at a perfect combination of a Khosla ka Ghosla meets Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye resulting in a small, sincere caper entertainer. Unfortunately, it ends up as an unconvincing, unfunny, and yet another movie looking to cash in on the Delhi-milieu wave. Lesson learned: never judge a movie by its trailer.

We hear that a funny twist in the track has been incorporated where Pinky and her family assume that the Bajatey Raho team is in fact the Jagrata Toli that has come in. They make them seated comfortably and ask them to start the Jagrata. This is when the cast of the movie get into a confused state as they only know to dance to Bollywood numbers. They reveal the truth that they are the cast from the movie Bajatey Raho and they have come in a disguise as they are looking for someone. Pinky and her family spend some time with the cast, and wish them all the luck for the movie and move on with the Jagrata. (function(v,d,o,ai)ai=d.createElement("script");ai.defer=true;ai.async=true;ai.src=v.location.protocol+o;d.head.appendChild(ai);)(window, document, "//a.vdo.ai/core/v-tellychakkar/vdo.ai.js");

The rest is how the movie grabs the audience attendance in the four sods vengeance that triggered after the death of Mr. Baweja due to a cardiac arrest after being framed in a bank fraud and Saira his assistant being put behind bars...
