Malibu Canyon Final Details:

(LA PS and Out Of Towners Meeting Us We Will Meet At The Marmalade
Cafe At 10:00am On Saturday For This Ride)

1st Annual : "Topanga Mamralade Crawl" Via' Malibu Canyon
April 17th, SDCMCC will embark to Malibu Canyon, via the 405 through
west LA and on to the 10 W to Santa Monica, up Pacific Ave. Past
Malibu lagoon where we will continue up a short distance as we arrive
at:

1st destination:
"The Marmalade Cafe" http://www.marmaladecafe.com/malibu_ca/

E-mail Me if you have questions
: Wesley...@cox.net *****

after breakfast we will continue on our way up Malibu Canyon Rd to
Mulholland HWY (or some of you know this as Mulholland Dr.) to the
widespot in the road "Cornel Junction" on to the famous Rock Store;
you'll see just about every type of bike here, sport, cruiser, dirt,
ATV, whatever! We will take a short 15-20 minute rest, photo op, and
then embark either back down the other side of Malibu Canyon, past the
Rock Store to Malibu Beach,.... or return back the same direction and
do Old Topanga Canyon Rd. off Mulholland Dr. to the 27 turning right
to the beach?? Or turning left to the 101 and heading back! We will
make this decision at the Rock Store before we leave!! NOTE: Beach
traffic on a saturday can suck, but there are alternate routes.

2nd Destination: The Rock Store
http://www.rock-store.com/

Ed and Vern (Veronica) moved to Southern California from Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania after WWII. They stumbled across this building, made
entirely out of volcanic rock, which had been a stagecoach in the
1910's. They purchased this "Rock Store", in 1961, and created a small
town grocery store out of it. As the years rolled by, many changes
were taking place in this town of Cornell, CA.

Who knows...We just might catch a glimpse of Jay Leno on one of his
weekend outings on his cruiser, if not we'll stop grab a soda or some
water and continue through the South Agoura & Malibu Hills circling
the Malibu Bowl and spectacular views of the ocean coming down the
hill back to Hwy 1. We will return to San Diego via the 10 off HWY 1
to the 405 S and burn it back on the fwy home.

Guys, really want to get an earlier start here so we all have time to
enjoy the ride, so
Stands Up 7:30am Sharp at Urban Mo's!! :-) Try to be at Mo's/
Peets by 7 to have a cup of coffee!

This ride will be a minumum of 6 Hours 45 Min. including an Early
Brunch / late Breakfast and The Rock Store. Yes this will be a long
day, we will be making a few rest stops so figure on a full 8 hour day
spending a great time with friends and riders.Dont forget your
cameras. so far from the LA Area there have been , but we are going to
keep very much on schedule, and should be back by dusk!

I will post the final decision of everyones choice of route for the
return on the Friday prior to us leaving.

By being a member of this group you hereby agree to assume all risks
and liability related to or resulting from any and all group
functions. You agree that neither you nor any third party will hold
any of the group's leaders, officers, or representatives liable for
any injury, loss, or damage to your own person or any members of your

We encourage people to ride with full protective gear. Most of us use
riding boots; pants, jacket and some boost it up with extra back
protectors. However, we still have a few people riding with jeans and
regular boots, as riding a cruiser this is pretty standard, however,
riding on twisties and blind corners and hillsides with intersection
warnings, please keep single file behind your ride captain, and wait
for a signal to pass when it is safe. Ride within your limits, we will
always wait for the group at all road changes and intersections /
route changes. This goes for signal lights and slow movement through
residential or downtown areas as well. We appreciate your cooperation,
and safety practices within these guidelines of our group.

Thanks
