Greetings!
You're invited to a planning and brainstorming session about garden and farm curriculum implementation into Des Moines Public Schools. A small committee has been meeting to discuss resources and ideas, and we want to begin conversations with a larger group of people- especially educators and administrators with the district.
The first garden and farm curriculum meeting will be on Friday, June 5th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in room 112E of the Dean Avenue Operations Building (1917 Dean Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50316).
Goals for this meeting:
-Identify current challenges and successful practices for implementing garden/farm curriculum at DMPS
-Discuss ideas and models for farm-to-school curriculum
-Identify resources needed
-Discuss district's role in supporting farm-to-school connections to curriculum
-Identify next steps in this discussion
-Optional tour of Forest Avenue Orchard
We would be delighted if you would join us for these conversations, as you have been playing a vital role in promoting this important education already! Please follow
