Hi all!

Des Moines Feed and Nature Center has offered several pallets full of seed potatoes for school/community gardens if anyone would like them (they were just going to be dumped). They assured me that they were still good to plant and that you could still get a viable harvest planting them now! If you are at all interested, please let me know and I can pick them up. Stay tuned... They may have other leftover plants to give in a few weeks!

Happy hot summer days,

Amy

I'm glad that so many of you can use these potatoes! If you would like some, go to Des Moines Feed (2019 Hubbell Ave. Des Moines, IA 50317) within the next week or so before they throw all of the potatoes out. You can take as many as you'd like – they have four pallets full!

At this point in the season, just plant the potatoes whole, no need to cut them to separate the eyes.

Coming later this fall... How many ways can you eat a potato? 😀

:). Love this!

I've been looking for room, but we have a whole raised bed full of potatoes!
