Cross-platform support is becoming more important in the world of video games. Multiplayer hits like Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Fortnite have pushed crossplay into the limelight, and now most AAA multiplayer games release with at least partial cross-platform support. Finding every cross-platform game is no easy feat, though, so we did the hard work to bring you a comprehensive list of games that support crossplay.

If you're thinking of picking up a new gaming laptop, there are actually a lot of excellent choices out there, with some huge advances in the last few years that have made them thinner, more powerful, and even cheaper. In fact, some of the best gaming laptops can even compete with the best gaming desktops, so there are a lot of options out there depending on your budget and your needs. Either way, pretty much most modern laptops you buy will be able to play the best PC games without too much of a hassle.

Hi Folks, looking for an answer to this as well. my buddies play on Xbox and I'd like to be able to host a dedicated server on my new PC. If not I'm buying the MS Store version so please someone say it's actually a thing lol.

Have any you guys tried to make a server and see if it shows up on xbox and if player can join it seem like we dont need to add anything for crossplay but dont have and Xbox Series X to test that theory I have one Running Called

No Running on My Own hardware and that was my other question if Crossplay was a Nitrado thing only but if people can join my own server who are on Xbox then that would tell us if its an Nitrado only feature or Not

For everyone who has XBOX players on his servers, can you provide your start commands?

I just rented a nitrado server to check what they will add for crossplay. Checkout those start parameters:

I did not do anything special; the GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini files are all default. I can provide them to you, but there is nothing special that I did. From what I know, you do not have to do anything to enable Crossplay; it is enabled by default. However, I am also hosting on my own hardware under Linux. I do not use server providers, as I believe they are all poor value for money. However, if you like, you are welcome to join our server: POK-PVE-Community-ARK-Server-NO-WIPE. We are a friendly community and are happy to help new players get started.

So can anyone share what port forwarding address they are using? I tried following this link -survival-ascended/ but it didnt seem to solve my issue. Steam users out side my network can connect and I can connect from a Xbox on my local network, but Xboxes outside my network cannot connect. So I believe its a port forwarding issue. Can any of you that have gotten it to work share what all you changed to port forwarding?

You must add it at the very end (and yes, I know that seems insane). I originally had it in front of the -NoBattlEye and it failed. Moving it to the end immediately caused my server to be available within the Xbox client (though I had to search for the name and refresh a few times).

I feel like if the game was updated maybe they could add cross-platform. But as far as im aware the game is abandoned on console with the lack of communication on forums and livestreams and the fact console hasn't gotten a update in a min. To be real i feel like console is treated like a cash cow for some company's. Hope humankinds devs won't make the same the civ and ck3 did with there games being broken or behind. Here's to hoping for a good year for humankind on console.

They will likely never add crossplay. As you can tell from all their social media accounts, they do not care about putting effort into the console version. They actively ignore ALL comments about updating the console version of the game to ever be up to date with the PC version.

**Note: with the one exception of the possibility of them changing the Xbox version in fundamental ways that might make it incompatible with the PC version. There could be any number of reasons for such changes but the primary reason driving any such change would potentially be if they needed to adjust something (like mob numbers on screen) in order for it to be playable at a decent framerate on Xbox.

There are multiple games with crossplay right now, and Microsoft has made it clear it is up to the game companies as they will absolutely support it in every way. Playstation is the one that has issues.

I will specify, though, since that is a common concern among players whenever a console port is announced, this does not mean we will make balance/gameplay changes on PC to favor the console version. If there is ever a point where we need to adjust monster spawns or anything like that to improve the console experience, such a change would be done independently of the PC version."

Console games are great for quick uncomplicated play for a short time run around and are really focused on and zero in to the attention span of a child. Grim Dawn is in a different league of complexity and is best left to the power of a PC and real RPG players. It is almost like comparing a Noughts and Crosses game to a Chess Tournament.

Your worries are needless. Rhis has been working on the Xbox port for a while now and you can thank that work. Because of it we had x64 and DX11 support added as well as the Deferred Rendering performance optimizations that have enabled significant improvements in performance as well as much of the controller support improvements for those who prefer using controller.

PC and Xbox crossplay is not possible, it is my understanding that this is due to the PC version having some differences to the console version. I believe the biggest ones players would notice the cartographer and options available. PC has more customisation options than the console version does, and they also have a larger map with a different layout.

Cross platform for xbox playstation pc and switch would be nice and endless story line with side missions and theres and main land above the islands that would be interesting to traval the world in to time zone and more gun and add more survival to it like pills drink wills and food to hunt and fish for and increase the level limits .

Can you guys like add cross Platform play with friends in the future? I play on my PC and my friend plays PS4 and I showed him the trailer and he wants to get it but if you made it cross Platform it would make it more fun.

People need to stop acting like playing killer/survivor on console is like having your kneecaps broken prior to the match starting. It's not as good as on PC but it's not bad at all. I can play Nurse on console with no problems, and others can play killers like Blight and Oni whilst still being able to utilise their most advanced tech. I can 360 as survivor and even moonwalk sometimes.

If people want BHVR to try and further improve controls on console, that's great. But stop acting like the gap in accessibility between mouse and keyboard, and controllers is completely insurmountable. It's not. This reminds me of the people who said I'd need hundreds of hours of practice to get a 1K as Nurse. The challenge is grossly overstated.

A couple of dev Q&A sessions back and in one of the recent surveys they asked whether we'd prefer faster queue times or stricter MRR matches. The community overwhelmingly voted for the faster queues, which is why the lobby shopping/backfilling problem has been so impactful.

The big noticable differences come when playing some of the killers. The limitations of using a controller do make some rough to run, and one or two currently are unplayable imo. However the rest of the killers absolutely can be played effectively and well on console, just takes more time to "git gud" with them.

I was responding to a thread that wants matchmaking to be changed so PC users (most of the playerbase) can be excluded because their advantages are too great. I never said there wasn't a difference. Simply that the difference isn't enough to warrant changing matchmaking.

And I was responding to this exact statement of yours because it simply isn't true, there is a huge difference between PC and Console. This particular discussion has been ongoing for years across multiple games, nothing will change the argument until Console can achieve 240+ frames at the bear minimum. Specs alone are just the easiest to point out. I do wish there were more Console killers but I know that will never happen with how easy it is on PC, a simple example of differentiation is 360'ing.
