In Lucifenia, an orphan boy relates how he was raised by a kind nun in an orphanage. With the nun sick and on her deathbed, he and the other orphans ask her if she has any wishes, wanting to fulfill them out of gratitude to her. She tells them she's waiting for a reply to a letter she sent when she was young, although soon after brushes it off without telling them who the letter's recipient is.
Puzzled, the orphans split up and search all over the country for someone familiar with the nun's past, eventually finding an old painter. The painter explains how the nun had committed numerous atrocities, and that the letter's recipient is already dead. The orphan boy notes that, regardless, the nun is waiting for a response to her letter.
As the nun's death draws near, the boy gives her a fake response to her letter. Satisfied, the nun thanks him and later dies. The boy remarks that they'd only realized her sins after everything was already over.
