Several programs I visited seemed to have a few of their spots "spoken
for". Like at LSU they always fill with new orleans students but they
still invited a ton of people to interview. I felt like I was wasting
my time there.

Spot are ALWAYS spoken for under the table. That's just how it work in
the political world of derm. Is it right? Maybe not. Does it happen?

Mt. Sinai -- if you do a fellowship there, you are guaranteed the
spot. So in a way, their spots are spoken for.
