In "The Legend of a Dragon", a story is told by Master Roshi of how the Earth Dragon Balls were once one huge Dragon Ball which was split into the seven. Likely by coincidence, this tale is similar to that of how the different sets of Dragon Balls were created from pieces of the massive Super Dragon Balls.
By the time of the Universe 6 Saga, Champa has gathered six of the Super Dragon Balls and is looking for the last one in Universe 7, which makes Beerus angry due to his snooping inside his Universe. The balls Champa has obtained are held above the Nameless Planet. If Champa won the tournament, he would use them to switch the Earths of their universes. If Beerus won, Champa would hand over the six he has gathered. Bulma and Jaco visit Zuno to learn the location of the final Dragon Ball. However, their questions have been used up and are requested to return in a year. The six Super Dragon Balls which Champa had collected were transported to the Nameless Planet by Vados.
After the Tournament of Destroyers, it is revealed that the Nameless Planet is the final Super Dragon Ball, but how it got the material to disguise itself remains a mystery. Immediately afterwards, the Super Dragon Balls are used by Team Universe 7 because of being the victors of the tournament. Whis summons the dragon, Super Shenron in the Divine Language. When it is time to make a wish, Beerus wishes for Universe 6's Earth to be revived. Bulma asks Beerus what he wished for, and he simply answers that he asked for a more comfortable bed, not wanting to get too personal on his and his brother's relationship. The balls are then scattered throughout Universes 6 and 7 once more.
When Zamasu heard of the Super Dragon Balls, he then hatched his master plan to destroy all mortal-kind. First, he murders his master, Gowasu, and steals his Time Ring and pair of Potara Earrings. He then uses the Time Ring to go into the future, uses the Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Goku, and proceeds to murder him and his family. He then uses the Time Ring to travel to an alternate timeline in order to meet the one person who shares his ideals: himself. He murders the Gowasu of that timeline and joins forces with his counterpart. They then use the Super Dragon Balls of that timeline to grant Zamasu immortality. After which, they destroyed the balls so that they would never be used against them in Future Trunks' timeline.
The Super Dragon Balls had been gathered again for the Tournament of Power, as a prize for the winner of the tournament. It is also revealed that Champa had been secretly re-collecting them, as he provided the Grand Minister with the 3 Super Dragon Balls he had, much to the disapproval by Beerus. The last fighter standing gets to use them and have any wish granted to them. Android 17 ends up being the winner of the tournament and uses his wish to revive all of the Universes erased by the Omni-Kings during the tournament.
In the 41st year of the Divine Calendar, Zalama formed the Super Dragon Balls. He shaped the balls to be the size of planets, about 37,196 kilometers in circumference. One year later, he patented the technology that made star marks on Super Dragon Balls look the same from every angle. He created the phrase to summon the Divine Dragon, "Come forth, Dragon of the Gods, and grant my wish pretty peas!". He also programmed the Super Dragon Balls to scatter throughout Universe 6 and Universe 7 after a wish is made.
The full extent of Zalama's power is unknown, but he was able to create the Super Dragon Balls and their divine dragon Super Shenron with no limitations to the wish that can be granted, though the dragon is only allowed to grant one wish per summoning. According to Zuno, the Super Shenron can do everything. It possibly implies that Super Shenron (and Zalama as well) is comparable to Zeno.
The Super Dragon Balls are enormous, planet-sized Dragon Balls with a diameter of 37,196 km and perfect sphere in shape. They are light yellow in color and had red, five-pointed star markings which appear as stars from every angle.
The Super Dragon Balls, according to Zunō, were created by the dragon god known as Zalama, in the 41st year of the "History of Gods" (神かみ歴れき, Kamireki). Uniquely, the Super Dragon Balls exist as a single set within the twin universes.[3] According to Champa, they are the original set of Dragon Balls, claiming that the Nameccians created their own Dragon Balls by shaving off pieces of the Super Dragon Balls.[4]
Because they are the original set of Dragon Balls, Champa implies that there are either less or no limitations to the wishes that the Super Dragon Balls can grant; Whis confirms that they are at least capable of wishing for the death of a god.[7] This is demonstrated by Champa's desire to use the artifacts in order to switch the positions of the planet Earths in the Sixth and 7th Universes.[4] Once a wish is granted, the Super Dragon Balls scatter across the twin universes. Beerus claimed he could destroy a universe if he wanted with the Super Dragon Balls, implying the orbs can grant any wish.[8] However, the dragon spawned from these dragon balls, Super Shenron only speaks the language of the gods, as such only someone who speaks such a language can make a wish.[9] The Super Dragon Balls lose their powers for a full year after a wish is granted like any Dragon Balls.

Its decent enough for me as a dragon ball fan and a somewhat turn base ish jrpg. i put over 70 hours (or 60 i forgot) what i think is the last boss is kicking my buttocks and i haven't touch the other features around the game yet.
Shallow? Really?
I found the potential for deck combos quite deep actually.
90% of the actual strategy happens during deck building, granted, but it offers quite a lot of depth on that end and a surprising amount of play styles given the relative length (or lack thereof) of the individual matches.
Definitely enjoying it. I felt a little lost right off the bat and felt like I was missing some nuances, but that was because I got some ridiculously complicated cards from the gacha that I tried to use right away.
I was super interested in this game initially. But then I did my research and found the gameplay doesn't measure up. Shame considering this is what Xenoverse was based off... What makes it even worse is that this is coming at a time where Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ are already prevalent in the DB community. And then we have that new game on the horizon that we may just see at E3 this year. I can't see many people willingly picking this game up when they have much better to choose from. Cool concept though - if Yugioh didn't already claim that market.
@Wavey84 Interesting. I found DBS Broly to be top 3 DB movies from the entire franchise, and while they messed up quite a few things during the ToP arc, it was overall pretty good and I loved UI. For now, I like the direction it's heading.
On topic tho: I disagree it being shallow as there's a lot of creativity in deck building and team formations. It leaves room for a lot of different play styles and there's no real "best" deck as everything has counters and many missions require different approaches than only 1 deck. It has well-thought out mechanics, cards and abilities which keep the game fresh and give you freedom to use your favorite cards and characters. If you're unsure about this game wait for the Demo to drop which is hopefully soon (it has been announced already iirc). But for me, who was hesitant to buy first I'd say it's an incredibly deep and fun game with a lot of content that's definitely worth your money. Personally i'd give it a 9/10.
@LetsGoSwitch This summer Legacy of the Duelist 2 comes out for Switch. I've logged some many hours on LotD 1 it's not even funny. But this has been a really fun game to bide my time till it comes out. I have to say the story mode has been great and Super Sayian Rose' Goku Black is crushing it for me.
@Wavey84 Episodes 77-131 of Dragon Ball Super are a better ending to DBZ than the Buu Saga was post-Vegeta blowing himself up to "kill" Fat Buu. Over the course of those Super episodes the animation gets really good (for the most part), tho nothing matches Toriyama's storyboarding. Can totally understand if those first 27 thru you off. 28-76 were all over the place too. But I adore the Universal Survival arc.
@Wavey84 Super is really really imperfect, but let me defend the end a little. I liked how Super ended because every arc or saga before they lost. In the Battle of the Gods arc Beerus pretended to fall asleep and didn't kill everyone after Goku lost. In Resurrection F Frieza blew up the Earth but Whis rewound time and gave them a second chance. In the Universe 6 tournament arc Hit won but let Monaka "punch" him out of the ring as an against doing the will of the gods (specifically Champa, because of something Goku says to him casually about not bending to their will forever). Zamasu won at the end of the Future Trunks arc until Zeno deleted that reality. So at the end of Super the victory feels REALLY earned for a change. Goku's transformation feels earned (seeded with Whis training early in the show specifically talking about such a form). Goku also technically loses to Jiren but is saved by his biggest villain in Z he showed compassion to AND another Z villain that was originally "created" to specifically kill Goku. Android 17 used to be a real person (kind of a vandal but still) before Gero did stuff to him and his sister...and with Krillin wishin him back in Z, etc, 17 getting a family and taking care of animals...I dunno, I felt like overall, any "safe" involved in the ending was earned by them losing every arc before, but winning because of the history the characters had (from DB and Z and Super). Goku standing against Jiren (someone who is a classic Z hero in a lot of ways, a Vegeta or a Goku or whomever, fighting alone selfishly ((see the Kid Buu rock paper scissors moment in Z) with Frieza and 17, people he's trusting they at one point would try to kill him...felt kinda great. Also I like a lot of the new character designs in Super (Zeno, Beerus, Whis, Universe 6 Saiyans, etc) but agree with you on Jiren...though I get what they were going for if you look into the non-mystical psychology of the whole GRAY ALIEN image. I'd talk more but have prob ranting enough!
