The Eastern Maine Conservation Alliance (EMCI) is presently seeking proposals for conservation work to be conducted in coastal Washington and eastern Hancock counties in 2016 (see attachment). The range of work supported by EMCI includes biological studies, archeological studies, support for historical societies, and broad conservation efforts both individually and collaboratively.
Background: EMCI awards grants of $1,000 to $3,000 annually for academic or professional studies or endeavors in support of environmental sciences, wildlife conservation, cultural geography or historical research related to Eastern Maine. EMCI has supported archaeological, geological, ornithological, botanical & marine studies. We have also funded projects of local historical societies. Collaborative studies among NGOs and multi-funded academic organizations are encouraged. Visit the EMCI webpage for more information (http://www.emcimaine.org/).
