Hey all,
Just an update on anyone who is planning to help chip in to making bunting this Tuesday for the June 29th Furthest From the Sea event (where we as a group now have a stall, if we want it).
Learn more about the event here:
http://www.furthestfromthesea.co.uk/Here's the answers to some questions which were raised last week...
1) I have spoken to the guys and girls at FFTS and they are happy to
give us a few squid toward the bias tape, I'll be organizing getting it in
but if anyone else has some lying around that they don't mind bringing along that would be great.
2) We
get to keep the bunting afterwards for Derby Makers, so we can use it for our own events.
Also an additional request - is anyone free to give Britta and myself
a lift to the Silk Mill (from Chaddesden) that evening? We are thinking of bringing our sewing machine to help out, and we will also be giving blood quite soon before 7 so likely to be weak and feeble.
Eleanor from FFTS, who is responsible for organising decoration for the 29th, will be joining us for the evening, to see what we do. She might also be interested in
rope making, so Mark if you can bring along your marvelous machine that would be cool.
We will be bringing a fair bit of material but again anyone who has any they aren't using, it would be fantastic if you could bring it along. Ideally it should be brightly coloured or patterned, non-elastic (fabrics like cotton and linen rather than acrylic) and lightweight.
Look forward to seeing you all soon!
Jim
