We are booked on to the Assemble Exhibition. Details are in the email from Dan Webber below:

Dear Bernard,

Thank you for your application to exhibit at this year’s Assemble: Derby’s Making Festival at the Museum of Making on Saturday 25th October 2025.

I’m pleased to tell you we would like to invite you to exhibit at the event and can meet your space and technical requirements.

Can you please reply to this email to confirm your involvement, and if you have any questions, I’d be happy to arrange a quick call to discuss these.

In the meantime, please refrain from announcing your involvement, as once all our makers are confirmed, we will be in touch with branded promotional materials for makers to use.

Dates for the diary

Friday 24th October (daytime) – Makers are invited to set up for the event (times tbc – please note it is also possible to set up on Saturday 25th October before the event)

Friday 24th October (evening) – Makers Party – a chance to network with other makers taking part at the event, with food and drink provided by Derby Museums.

Saturday 25th October – Assemble: Derby’s Making Festival.

I have acknowledged and there should be a follow on email with further details but I understand that there will be an exhibitors briefing at 10:30 with public access from 11:00. The event closes to the public around 5pm and we should be able to pack up and leave around that time.

Gwen is makeing a cloth for an exhibit table with the DM logo together with DCC and UKMSA logos. I have asked Daniel Giles (DCC) if this is ok. He has said that we need to take care in case we are asked about Council related activities that we may not be comfortable with. I think we are ok to continue but make it clear that we have been supported by DCC in obtaining local funding if anyone asks.

We have the rope maker which will form the main part of our table. I am not sure what, if anything, to tell the organisers about what space we would like. i.e. it may be better to be a little out of the way so we are not competing with a through flow of people if we intend to make rope! The rope maker is currently at Grange Hall and we demo'd it at the last meeting. There is both string and wool. Hopefully enough to last the day!

If anyone else has any ideas on how to proceed on the day, please reply here.

Bernard

Unless anyone else has had a go, I can create an A5 flyer similar to the one attached (from the side of the cabinet).
I can double up and print  A4 and cut them in half.

I have a more recent photo of the cabinet with its roller shutter.
Can someone send me the Derby Makers logo picture file?

What links do we want to include?
https://www.facebook.com/DerbyMakers
DerbyMakers.co.uk?  any others?

Meeting address, days, times as example flyer
Any other information?

That sounds great. I have attached logos for Makers, DCC and UKMSA. Use as you see fit. Let me know if you need any other format.
