I've been thinking about doing a presentation on my work with TurboVote.org called something like "Can Rails fix democracy?" It would be partly a demo and overview of our app and what we're trying to accomplish with it. But I've been trying to come up with some other aspect that would be interesting to folks at a DeRailed meeting. Otherwise, it's just, we're doing this thing, and... we have a Rails app. Which doesn't strike me as all that novel.
Maybe I could talk a bit about some of the data challenges we face or solicit feedback from the audience about what are the ways they might like to see the process of voting improved, etc.
What do you think?
