Itshould be fairly easy to reproduce; the behavior has been consistent on all platforms I have tried. pCloud is providing 20GB for free, 1 or 2 GB backup should be enough to trigger the behavior, maybe even less. I would try it, but all of my machines are now tied up in verifying stages.

Of course if the verification step is actually happening alongside the start of the backup then that might be a problem as the verify should be done first to make sure the backend is viable. I could see verify and file scan being concurrent, but not actual uploads.

And it seems that the call to get the next file in the remote directory is causing a full listing every time it is called, thus transferring a big amount of data when the destination has too many files (e.g. thousands or more).

buddy i also faced the same problem. i waited for ue4 to verify nearly 1 hrs. but finally found a solution for our problem. it happens becoz when ur anti-virus is turned on with live protection. here is the solution for ur problem:

1]pause the download

2] turn off ur anti-virus

3] now resume ur download

I also have this problem, except the installer is stuck on 97 verifying, and it has been like that for over 3 hours. It just now turned to 98%, but I cannot wait for an installer that takes 40 visual studio install times to just crawl up 1%.

I downloaded a trial copy of Designer the other day on my iMac using the product key provided. The software worked fine, however, I am unable to access it again as it is stuck with a message saying " Verifying Affinity Designer". I am already a user of Photo which I purchased several years ago and have been keen to find out more about Designer.

Try resetting the app, hold down CTRL and open, when the window appears, release the key and click Clear. If this doesn't resolve the issue you can remove it from your system, do a reboot and download and install it again.

Not a great start to my Affinity experience. I finally got Designer to open. Now I can't get Photo to open. Or Publisher. Sheesh. I understand it's a 90-day trial for each, but it's not a trial if I can't open it or use it.

Do you have the trial properly installed? Installing applications from a DMG file sometimes confuses users, and they run it directly from the DMG rather than installing it (open DMG, drag application to the Applications folder, close DMG, run application from Applications folder).

I thought I had the same issue, but it just solved it by... being patient. I mean, really patient, it took some minutes with the bar stuck at 60% (after a quick start). Take a coffee. I hope it works for you too.

I have just updated Affinity Designer, Photo and Publisher. The Verification is stuck and I can't get it to open either program. I have resinstalled them, I have rebooted my Mac repeatedly. The only one I can get to open is the Photo app. (edited as I realise that I have *not* updated the photo app yet)

Iphone stuck on verifying update and I cannot restart it normally, and the worst part is that it's stuck on my lockscreen and face ID, or password won't work so when I try to restart it the easier way it asks for my password, but since I can't touch the screen it won't work, Help!!

I RESOLVED it, had same issue iPad was stuck on "verifying update", managed to force restart but then update wasn't applied, on retry it get stuck on same 'verifying update' again. I did reset my iPad hoping better results but still same after update it was getting stuck on "verifying update".

Mac wouldn't install iTunes as it required older version of macos so had to install iTunes on Windows 10 pc and then connected iPad to windows PC in iTunes to apply update via iTunes and it finally managed to apply update 17.3 on iPad

I, too, had this problem. Swiping-out of the Setting screen kills the "verify" attempt- that is for sure, as @Norm123 suggested. Then I realized that I was on a WiFi with email ports blocked-therefor "Verify" was never able to verify. It was only when I switched off WiFi that i could continue to verify account successfully.

I recently had this problem and was able to break out of this by putting the device in airplane mode, at which point it stopped the "verifying" spinner and warned me that it couldn't check my settings, but did let me proceed. Then, obviously, turning airplane mode back off, I was good.

If you are having issues with accessing Settings, double tap the Home button and swipe up on Settings to close it completely. Then open it back up and then remove the email account that is having issues and then add it back in. For more information and troubleshooting, check out the articles below.

Thanks Norm; your suggestion was most appreciated. Before I received your reply, by accident I also found that by powering-down completely and then back on again unfroze the screen that was showing verifying, and I was able to access everything in Settings again.

Thanks for the helpful instructions - I had gotten stuck in Verifying after making changes to my outgoing mail server settings. I did not have to delete the troublesome email account; I just had to edit them again and got them right on the second try. The successful Verification only took a few seconds. Clearly the Verifying code needs to have a reasonable timeout for a user interface.

My install also appeared stuck on that same screen for over 30min. So my first instinct was to increase mem size because I had opted to create the vm on a single file rather than breaking up multiple files.

If you click on the x on top right corner of that message, it'll take your mouse to the upper left most corner of the player where you can choose player settings from menu, then double the mem allocation to 2048 and you might notice that as soon as you click on OK, the install takes off with the following screens, mine did.

Restart the installation from scratch. When you get to the "Customise hardware" section, disable the network adaptor by unchecking the "Connect at power on". Check that you have 2 processors selected. Start the installation.

Try to close the window of your virtual machine in VMWare BUT don't close it ( click on the cross then a window appear to confirm exit but don't exit you just canceled by clicking on the cross and continue the installation)

I had to modify my agent account from the ost_staff table to reset the password before I was able to sign-in again and I was immediately prompted to change my password. After doing so, I tried logging out and signing back in again. And it's stuck validating again.

Disabling the Password Policy Plugin fixes the issue.

Reenabling this plugin and trying to set different passwords after I have reset it to log in, some passwords it is stuck verifying and others give me an Access Denied error.

I tried lowering the complexity requirements and now I'm getting nonsense errors (see image) that will not allow me to set a new password

I've also run into an issue where I can't get past the change password screen anymore.

I update my agent account on the database so passwd is the hash for "password" and change_passwd=0. But immediately after signing-in, I get the change password window, and checking the values for those earlier fields in the database, change_passwd is set to 1 and passwd to some other hash value, which is different each time I repeat the steps.

Same as me - I have had an Officejet Pro 7740 for approximately 1 year with no problems. Yesterday, after a computer & printer restart, the printer is now stuck with "verifying" and the circle on the display and won't go any further, and I cannot print. I do not have auto updates on because the download always fails. Manual updates always fail also. I searched the forum and found the unplug power and all cables, hold down power button for 15 sections then plug it back in, but that didn't work.

Hopefully this helps someone else. I saw this somewhere else and it worked. Just left it unplugged for a couple hours after that it worked. I had tried 30 sec up to even a couple minutes and still received the stalled "verifying". Left it unplugged for a couple hours, turned it on and back to normal. Who knows......

The reasoning here is that holding down the power button will drain all the charge from the boards and typically eliminates the cause of non-startup. Leaving unplugged for a couple of hours achieves the same thing but, takes much longer.

I recently installed the newest version (15.1.1) of Indesign CC (twice). After the first install, the "Verifying "Adobe InDesign2020 app" was stuck on my screen, as if the install was not complete. It is still there after a week. Today I disinstalled IND and reinstalled. Not only did the notice NOT go away, now I have a second one on my screen. The program seems to work fine, though it was hanging after the first install when using anchored objects.

I have the same issue. I just downloaded Indesign and now this can't get off my screen. The next Macos update is supposesdly today but let's see. I will update and request for some help if it persists. thanks

Hello. Since a day ago, my Warframe launcher simply refuses to make any progress on verifying the download cache. It simply gets to around the 15-20% mark and then stops right there. I've been letting it run overnight, but to no avail.
