When installing vMix 24 over the top of a previous version, vMix 24 will prompt to activate your registration key again.Click Activate in this window to proceed.
If in the rare instance this Activate window does not appear, or an error occurs, activation can be done manually: 1. Login to our account page with the Registration Key or optionally via Email: 2. Scroll down to the Activate section, click Deactivate next to the computer you wish to upgrade. 3. Type in the Registration Key into vMix 24, it will now register normally.

If you encounter the following error:The current Registration is corrupt, please try registering again.
This is an indication that either the vMix registration or registration files are corrupt, or something on your system is broken or corrupt in Windows. If you are attempting to register vMix for the first time, try registering again.
Otherwise we recommend trying the following steps:

  1. Check for all available Windows Updates and update all to the latest version
  2. Install the latest version of vMix again from our website -
  3. Reboot your computer and try registering/activating vMix again

This error might also coincide with a second error message. If you do encounter a second error that contains mention of class or invalid class or similar, then this means that an important Windows component called WMI is corrupt or malfunctioning. If you need to relocate your vMix registration key, you can login to your vMix Account via our website. 1. Click the "vMix Account" Login link at the top right of the vMix website: 2. Login to your vMix Account using the second box titled "Login with email address" and enter in the same Email Address used to registered the key to. This will be the email address entered when purchasing the key unless the email has been changed via the vMix Account since purchase. If you do not know your password, select the "Email my Password" button to have it sent out to you. 3. Your registration key will be listed under the "Registration Keys" title in the Information section. If you have multiple keys registered to the same email address they will also appear here on the left hand side.

The following error may appear if you try to register or activate vMix. This includes activating a new vMix registration key or switching between keys.
The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.RegistrationUnable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
Windows 7This is most commonly caused by using Windows 7. Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 7 and as a result does not natively support some of the latest security requirements. Due to this, it is unable to successfully connect to the vMix servers for activation and registration. vMix is not supported on Windows 7. So it is recommended to upgrade to Windows 10 which will fix this issue. Windows 10If you are using Windows 10, then this means that an important security feature has not been enabled. Which is TLS 1.2 support. So firstly make sure that your Windows is up to date by running all available updates to see if that fixes the issue. Its is important that you are running the most recent version of Windows 10 (10.0.19044 Build 19044 or higher) otherwise you may still encounter this error. As long as you have a valid Windows license and you are running the latest Windows Updates, this should solve the issue.

The vMix Account login page allows you to login using two different methods.

  1. With your vMix registration key (only if "Restrict login to email only" is not enabled)
  2. Or with your email address and password. This will always be the email address that the key is currently registered to under your vMix Account. This email can also be changed via your vMix Account at any time.
To login with your email and password, you will need your vMix Account password. Your password for your vMix Account is randomly generated. To retrieve a copy of your password, visit the vMix Account page: Enter your email address into the Email Address field and then click the Email My Password button. An email will be sent to you with a copy of your vMix Account password. You can save a copy of this password securely for future logins. Or a copy of your password can be retrieved at any time by following the steps above. Can I change my vMix Account password?Currently it is not possible to manually change your vMix Account password to a chosen password. This can only be randomly generated. To retrieve a copy of your password please follow the steps above. If you need your vMix Account password changed to a new randomly generated password, then please contact vMix support and we can issue you a new one: -us.aspx I don't remember my registration key or registered email address. To transfer your registration key license to another computer, or to install the license on a second computer follow the steps below: 1.
