Computer Services ensures that campus technology is up-to-date and meets the needs of the campus community. Computer Services maintains, among other things, computer labs, classroom technology, software and hardware for both administrative and academic computing systems, the network, and the telephone system. The Computer Services Helpdesk is available to assist users throughout the year.
The hardware support team provides support services for all personal systems throughout city government. Our staff of certified and experienced technicians maintains, builds, upgrades, repairs and recycles these computers.
The network support team serves city government by integrating computer systems, telephone support, negotiating and managing information technology related contracts, and technology assistance and support.
The applications team provides software development, software support and database maintenance for programs used within city government. The team also assists in the selection, purchase, deployment and maintenance of third-party software solutions.
The Computer Services - Student Information Management Division is responsible for the support of the BISD's Student Information Management System, Teacher Grade eBook, district-wide software applications and the monitoring of the systems hardware. This responsibility includes consultation, recommendations, administration, programming design & development, installation, implementation, management, procedures and policies training, maintenance and end-user support of the district's use of those applications.
