FYI. Attached is an interesting November 2010 report by Jennifer Dill and
several PSU researchers entitled "Demonstrating the Benefits of Green
Streets for Active Aging: Final Report to EPA." The data for this report
was collected in the Lents neighborhood. The research included four
elements assessing impacts of greenstreets using "(1) a walkability audits
to assess features that affect the pedestrian experience; (2) surveys of
residents; (3) an evaluation of relationship between home prices and green
street features, using a hedonic pricing approach; and (4) an assessment
of the environmental effects of the green street features."

Noelwah Netusil, Professor of economics shared this report with me. She
will be a guest speaker at a special Audubon Society of Portland
presentation 7-8:15pm April 26 at the Leach Botanical Garden Manor House
in SE Portland (6704 SE 122 Avenue, Portland, OR 97236). She will sharing
some of her own reserach on the contribution of greenspace, tree canopy,
and green streets to home resale values.

Please RSVP to Bich Trinh <btr...@audubonportland.org> or 971-222-6139 if
you think you might attend.

Jim
