Hey heathens,

In case you haven’t heard, the Foundation Beyond Belief is forming an international team for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk. This is a great fundraiser for cancer research, and it’s also a lot of fun. A few Chicago area SSA affiliates (including Northwestern, Loyola, U of C, and DePaul) are forming a local team and the more people who can join us, the better! Whether you can walk with us or you just want to donate a few bucks, any help is very much appreciated.

If you’d like to walk with us, here is the link to the Chicago area SSA affiliate group page. When you get to the page just click "Walk with us" at the top and register as a participant! If you’d like to join our team you need to sign up by July 14^th. (I’m sorry about the late notice; we were slow to get this out because we’ve been busy with the SSA conference. Which was SO MUCH FUN, by the way.) The goal is for each participant to raise $100, but of course that’s not required and any amount helps! The FBB’s goal this year is to raise $1 million altogether. If you can’t walk but you’d still like to donate, you can do so at the link above as well.

The walk this year will take place on October 20^th at Grant Park’s Upper Hutchinson Field. Here is a link to the Facebook event for the Chicago area SSA affiliates group. We’ll definitely be talking about this more once the school year starts, and we’ll be doing DAFT fundraising events as well.
