Hello Public Voices Fellows,
Over the last six weeks, The OpEd Project has gone 100% virtual. We are now running three virtual “Write To Change The World” core workshops each month, with global cohorts of 50+ people in each session. We have been able to reach a wave of new voices across the international landscape, including those with different abilities and those who would otherwise be unable to join us because of their immunocompromised condition. We are an “everybody” project and with our recent pivot we are now able to serve a wider range of people - and we need your help to reach those who stand to benefit the most.
We would like to present you with the opportunity to join us as an Alum Ambassador. Alum Ambassadors are Fellowship and Public Programs alums who exemplify our mission of inclusion and leadership, and believe this work matters and can change lives. If this sounds like you, we’d love to have you join us. The OpEd Project has allocated two spots for Alum Ambassadors in every upcoming workshop, for the next three months. Alum Ambassadors will be able to join as our guests, and we also ask that you to join us in leadership for parts of the workshop (don’t worry, we will provide training). The curriculum of our virtual workshop mirrors the curriculum of our in-person core workshops, which you have all experienced - and yet, in many ways, it is entirely new (and exhilarating!). All Alum Ambassadors also have renewed access to our journalist mentor editors. Would you like to join us as an Alum Ambassador? Apply HERE.
Who do you believe in - whose voice does the world need to hear? Send them our way! We have upcoming virtual workshops on May 6-7 (2-day intensive), and May 30 (1-day sprint). You can find the full schedule HERE. As an alum, you can pass on a credit of $20 to anyone you refer with the CODE: OEPSTF2020Equity. You can also recommend a scholarship recipient by CC’ing Tyi...@theopedproject.org on an email to them, telling them why their voice matters, with a link to the APPLICATION. Those you recommend are not a guarantee of a scholarship but we are given special attention.
Thank you for continuing to put your own important ideas out into the world, and for working with us at The OpEd Project to support and elevate all voices! Please take care of yourselves, and we’re sending our very best to all of you.
Be well,
Your friends at The OpEd Project
