Hi everyone,

Hope you are off to a great start with the academic year. I wanted to share an op-ed from Sunday's New York Times, written by coach and career development expert Tara Mohr. It's a great example of how to write an op-ed using academic research findings as the lead, and then broadening out (hit, bridge, sparkle) to get to your area of expertise, in this case, how women can learn to respond to praise and criticism in the workplace. Notice that the academic findings in the lead are not Mohr's own, but are borrowed from linguist Kieran Snyder.
