Hello,
I'm using EAGLE version 9.5.2. I've registered for an EAGLE Education license with my university email on 17.12.2019 and can't get it activated in the program yet. After reading some posts here in the forum (e.g. -licensing/eagle-student-license-isn-t-activating/m-p/702... ) I started reinstalling the program and several sign out and in procederes, nothing fixed it yet. Here's what I tried so far:

I've attached to screenshots showing the license information in the EAGLE control panel and the access page for the EAGLE educational license.

Is there anybody with a similar problem and a solution I've not tried yet?

Hey,
thanks for the quick reply. Forgot to mention: I don't see EAGLE as a product on my Autodesk account, thats one thing I asked about in the live chat. The live chat was started over the Autodesk Educational support, the Email I wrote was following up on the support case created by the live chat. But it seems that this support case lead my Email to the "normal" Autodesk support so I will write another one for the Educational support - thanks for the information!

@leowarren34I've verified my email on the 17.12.2019 short after the registration. Therefore already waiting 3 weeks for it to be active. Is there any further validation process i need to do? (Was never asked to provide anything else)

My first attached .png from the initial post shows a screenshot with my view of -software/eagle, there's nothing else i can do but download really.

@leowarren34since 17.12.2019 I've downloaded and (re-)installed EAGLE from that website 3 times. I can log in with my account but in the control panel it only show's me the free license (see also my second attached screenshot from the initiate post) and the features accessible with the education license aren't working.

Also I've just downloaded and installed it on a second laptop with the same result after I logged in. I think the account is just not verified from server side (since I can't see EAGLE in my Autodesk product list...). Sadly Autodesk is not reacting to any of my support requests. The live chat only suggested me trying to sign out and back in after I told him i did that for 3 weeks almost every day.

Autodesk now offers a free version of Eagle. This version may be installed in several ECN-supported labs. Launching Eagle requires each user to login with an Autodesk ID. The latest version of Eagle can be downloaded from the following web link as well as create an Autodesk account if you do not have one already. We have seen mixed results in getting this to work and have reached out to Autodesk to help make sure that this works for any student that wishes to use Eagle.

Once you have download Eagle while logged in with your Autodesk account, it may take some time before you will have access to the full version of Eagle. Autodesk has suggested to us to give it up to two days. If you still do not have access to the full version of Eagle, email suppor...@autodesk.com.

You will need to contact Autodesk (suppor...@autodesk.com) if you the following screen after launching Eagle and logging in with your Autodesk account. At this point, Eagle working in limited free version before Eagle added to your Autodesk account.

My student project team used the professional license last year with no issue before EagleCAD was bought by AutoDesk. This year we downloaded the student version that allegedly had premium capabilities; however we cannot create the board sizes we need and it constantly berates us for being outside of the boarders. We never had this issue with the professional license last year. Is there anything we can do about this? We are seriously considering switching to Altium because this new Eagle offers us no customer support except for referring us to post on forums....

The premium version of Eagle and the educational version are the same with the exception of license restrictions. This should be indicated at the top of the program as EAGLE 8.0.0 premium. Could you please verify your program indicates this?

You can find educational support within our educational site here, but the community is also a great place for help, as there are many of us from Autodesk in these boards. Let me know, we are happy to help further.

I am facing the same issue. I downloaded the free version and then upgraded to the student license. But it seems like Eagle isn't recognizing...
In the software it says "EAGLE Free License for non-commercial use and evaluation purposes". I got confirmation that on my account
the premium version is set from the support. I tried logging in and out from EAGLE, also tried reinstalling (I have it on my Mac Book Pro).
I was also a bit disappointed by the overall support, because I got redirected two times now. Any help?

Welcome! You mentioned that you previously downloaded the free version. In doing so you create licensing information on your computer for that version, which would need to be removed in order to run the student version as it precedes the student version licensing information. Here is how to remove your licensing information, but I would suggest just doing a clean uninstall and starting from scratch. You should be able to find the download for premium within your Autodesk Account.

That didn't fixed it. It turned out that Flexnet wasn't installed on my machine...

For anybody facing the same issue on the mac install the license manager:
-network-licens...

Restart EAGLE or whatever product you are using and it should work, at least it did for me.

Is this for real? With online license validation there should be no need to suggest somebody uninstall and reinstall software to get it to license correctly. Even having to dig around in hidden folders and delete things isn't really acceptable. Signing out of the Autodesk account and back in again in EAGLE should be the most that is required and if that isn't the case then that should be fixed. Ideally there should just be a button in the page that shows the current entitlement to refresh the license information from the server.

The intent was to provide multiple options, as many different setups can exist, thus the first suggestion to remove the licensing information, which does not require a reinstall. It is intended to work with just the sign in. I fully agree this is ideal, but as @schoxzz indicated above, this was not working.

I was not suggesting there is a different download, just that it is available in your account if you are looking for it, as the entitlement should have already created. Let me know if you have any trouble when moving versions, as I am happy to assist.

Hi Mr. Garcia, great to hear from you again!! I've attached the screenshot from the alleged student version. Half of my team has gotten the "premium" status, and the other half still has the "free" version. It does say premium and free on top of the control panel, respectively. How can we fix this?

Still, in my download manager I still have only 5 softwares, Eagle is not one of them. Since this is not a problem of "clean install" I suppose I'm doing wrong something or there's a bug in the registration process.

Ok, the I obtained the student license so for me the situation is fixed. On the other hand, a phd collegue of mine still face the same issue, he performed all the registration steps, and obtained (as you can see in the screenshot) the access to the product but still doesn't see eagle in the software manager list.

I'm the collegue of @Anonymous , I performed all the registration steps, and obtained the access to the product but still doesn't see eagle in the software manager list. How can I solve this problem? Thank you

@matthew.d also I forgot to mention all the story. I performed all the registration steps, and obtained the access to the product. I downloaded it from the link in this page because it wasn't in the software manager list:

In the meantime there was a minor update of the software so I (ingenuously) updated the software from 8.5.0 to 8.5.2. From that point the license changed to "EAGLE Free License for non-commercial use and evaluation purposes".So I tried to reinstall it from scratch (8.5.0) but nothing changed as you can see.

If you look at your last picture, where you see the "wifi" like symbol with your name to the right of it, to the right of that is an arrow pointing down which denotes a drop down menu. If you look in that menu are you signed in or out? My guess is you are signed out. If you are then sign back in again. If you are signed in already then sign out and back in again, hopefully this will force it to refresh your details from the license system.

Updating to 8.5.2 won't have broken the licensing as such, what is does do is require EAGLE to re-validate your license entitlement for the new version. Normally it should pop up a sign in box for this.

Making PCB's may be one of the most valuable skills you can have. This page is dedicated to helping you bring you ideas into reality. After these three steps you will be able to create your own custom schematics, design a PCB from your schematics and send your files to a PCB manufacturer or mill them on one of the electrical engineering's milling machines.

Download and install the latest version (Win 32/64, Mac, etc.) of Autodesk Eagle Schematic / PCB design software. Choose the Student version which has a year free license. You will need to set up an account with Autodesk. The account can be used for all of Autodesk products. You will need to provide Autodesk with proof that you are a current student here.
