Dear Friends, Assalam o Alaikum WaRahmatullah Wa Barakatuhu!

Alhamdulillah, the time of the year is just around the corner, which every Muslim waits for the entire year - A month of fasting, prayer and giving, a month to repent from our wrong-doings and sin. This is the time to ponder and reflect upon the mercies bestowed by The Almighty upon us, and how we can continue to serve Him in a better way. This is the month of gaining ‘Taqwa’, drawing closer to Allah, striving for ‘Ihsan’, acquiring patience, refining manners, and being more charitable through Sadqa, Hadiya, Zakat and Fitra.

Narrated Abu Huraira (ra):

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained."

- Sahih al Bukhari

As you all are aware, we Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) are a non-profit organization. Among many other activities, we endeavor to promote progress and prosperity in the society. With the noble intention of helping our needy Muslim brethren, AMP started a ‘Zakat Fund’ a few years ago. The purpose of this fund was to provide monetary support to genuinely needy and underprivileged Muslims under two main heads, namely, Education and Self-Employment.

Last year, Alhamdu Lillah we launched four specific campaigns under our Zakat Fund, as follows;

Support A Higher Education
Empower Lives.

To support the financially needy and deserving students mostly pursuing professional courses.

Support A Small Business
Make A Happy Family.

The assistance of Rs 25000 each is provided to young, talented but unemployed youth within the community to start a small business with the objective of promoting Self-Employment.

Make India
Make an IITian.

Provide monetary support to bright needy Muslim students who have secured admission in the prestigious IIT institutes but are unable to pay the fees.

Shape A Life
Support an Orphan

Financial support for the educational expenses of needy orphan children so that they are not deprived of basic education for want of a guardian.
