Annual Report - 2017
Alhamdulillah! 2017 was a watershed year in the History of AMP. First of all, we completed 10 years of existence on December 6th - no mean achievement by modern standards considering Organisations come and go like the seasons of a year.
Some of our initiatives in 2016 started bearing fruit this year. The most important of this was to hire new staff to scale up the projects so that we could reach more cities and towns of the Country. This resulted in our spread increasing to 80 chapters and more. Our activities grew exponentially, we organised more SDLs – Monthly & National Campaigns, our Job Drives and Job Fairs multiplied manifold, and our Employability Training Programmes (ETPs) reached many more cities and towns.
This year saw us partnering with a cross section of the Society. We partnered with Government Agencies, like DSDE&E, CII-MCC, Police Departments and other Social Welfare Organisations. We were invited by Thane Police Commissionerate & Aurangabad Police to help them organise a Job Fair for their children and relatives . We took up the challenge head-on and this resulted in highly successful Job Fairs which were appreciated by the Police Departments as well as the Media. We were also approached by 'Sarth Pratisthan', a social welfare organisation floated by Mr. Anil Desai, Shiv Sena M.P. from Mumbai to organize a Job Fair. This also was a very successful and saw candidates of diverse backgrounds, faiths, castes and creeds - some even travelled to Mumbai from nearby and far flung towns and cities.
In 2017, we launched some major initiatives, which have got the potential to revolutionise the Community. It started with the launch of AMP's Career Counselling Cell, an online service which aims to answer all kinds of career related queries. More than 250 experts registered with their services available over the phone for anyone needing guidance. We also launched the 'AMP National Awards for Excellence in Education', an initiative aimed at recognising and appreciating the services of Senior Academicians all over the country. This initiative will be helpful in tying up with the Institutions and help implement AMP Projects & future Plans in association with them.
One of the most important initiative of this year was the launch of the 'Economic Development Plan for the Community'. We invited senior Professionals from different fields to come together on one platform and brainstorm and help devise a Roadmap for the Economic Upliftment of the Community. With a few meetings in Mumbai & Delhi already under the belt, we have set up multiple teams and teamleads to take this initiative towards the implementation stage.
The future beckons us and we are all excited to launch AMP's Community Development 2.0 which will help us take AMP to the next level in working for the Ummah. The Annual Convention 2017 was organised with the intention of galvanising our Leaders and Volunteers, the backbone of AMP who will translate the new plans into action from Ground Zero!
We congratulate all AMPians on the occasion of completing a Decade of Exciting Challenges. Starting from 2018, let us all implement our new Projects and Plans in sha Allah and continue the Good Work we did so far.
