2019 Community Forester Workshops... Registration Now Open!

Ever wanted to learn more about trees, advocate for our urban forest, educate others, or help improve your community's tree canopy?!  Now is an excellent time to do just that... 

Local nonprofit, The Park People, is pleased to partner with Denver Parks & Recreation to host the Community Forester program - a fun and informative, five-workshop series that will teach participants about trees and prepare them to act as stewards of the urban tree canopy. 

This is a great opportunity to support our environment, urban forest, community health, and quality of life in Denver.

Now is an excellent time to do just that...  The Park People is pleased to partner with Denver Parks & Recreation to host the Community Forester program - a fun and informative, five-workshop series that will teach participants about trees and prepare them to act as stewards of the urban tree canopy. This is a great opportunity to support our environment, urban forest, community health, and quality of life in Denver.  With rapid population growth and increased development, it's more important now than ever to protect/grow our beloved trees and green spaces! CLICK HERE FOR INFO ON THE COMMUNITY FORESTER WORKSHOP SERIES   Register TODAY by calling our office: 303.722.6262 COMMUNITY FORESTER TRAINING SCHEDULE       Topic Date Location Trees 101 Sat, March 16 -  9:00a to 1:00p James Fleming Mansion, Platt Park Planting & Health Sat, April 06 -  9:00a to 1:00p Harvey Park Rec Center Pruning 101 Sat, May 11 -  9:00a to 1:00p Harvey Park Rec Center Tree Identification Sat, June 08 -  9:00a to 1:00p City Park Greenhouse Volunteer Leadership & Community Engagement Sat, July 13 -  9:00a to noon James Fleming Mansion, Platt Park Classes are $20 and if you attend the first four, we offer the fifth for free!  The entire series is $80.  To become a Community Forester, participants must complete all five sessions. However, individuals may take Trees 101 and at least one other class to become a Tree Steward.  Registration deadline: March 8th... But classes fill up quickly, so register ASAP!
