Salary Range: $70,776 - $106,164
Work Year: 235 Day Work Year

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Denver Public Schools, recognized nationally as a technology
leader in K-12 education, is seeking an experienced, well-rounded
professional to join our Enterprise Windows Systems Administration
Team. This team is responsible for maintaining current, as well as
planning for future, enterprise Windows systems. Currently the
District has over 300 enterprise Windows systems, with more being
added. This is a fast paced, exciting position that will allow an
individual to work in a state-of-the-art computing environment, while
growing personally, professionally, and technically.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Deliver customer/end user, hands-on and telephone support internally
in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assist, under the guidance of more senior team members, with server
and central infrastructure support.
• Ensure DPS portal support services are delivered in a timely fashion
in accordance with the internal and external SLA's.
• Provide proficiency in "High End" implementations of Microsoft SQL
Server and data warehousing.
• Provide technical and customer service "Bridging Services" between
Windows Enterprise, Database Administration and the Data Warehouse
team.
• Provide proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
• Provide support to the other team members and level 1 and level 2
support teams, with troubleshooting the desktop and portal
environments.
• Part of a Team responsible for the installation and maintenance of
servers, storage and establishing and maintaining a stable and
responsible environment for production, test and development.
• Provide problem identification and resolution expertise.
• Assess in the development and implementation of new data processing
techniques, software packages and equipment as directed by the Senior
Systems Administrator.
• Monitor ongoing systems, application and software operations.
• Write shell scripts and SQL statements as necessary.
• Write computer programs as necessary.
• Work with hardware and software vendors to address issues and solve
problems.
• Ensure appropriate systems backups; standard recovery and disaster
recovery procedures are operational.
• Plan, implement and participate in the department’s disaster
recovery system.
• Develop and maintain all related documentation to support job
functions.
