DBA for a 6-week project to help them migrate from SQL Server 2000 to 2008.

SQL Server – Upgrade multiple SQL Servers from 2000 to 2008 in production
environment

Knowledge/Skills
• SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 development and administration background, required
• Strong knowledge of object creation and manipulation
• SQL Server 2008 Transactional Replication setup and best practices, required
• Data archiving methodology for large databases, required
• SQL Server upgrade implementation from 2000 to 2008, both in-place and server
migration paths, required
• Strong knowledge of migration path for non supported objects…i.e. dts
packages, maintenance plans, etc.
• SQL Server architecture design and implementation, required

Work Experience
• At least 4 - 5 years experience SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
development/administration
• At least 3 years experience supporting SQL Server environments in production
• Performed at least one SQL Server 2000 migration to SQL Server 2008 in
production environment
