email pre process

Hey Guys,

Have you ever created an Informatica pre-process to remove source
files from a email attachment, particularly from MS exchange? Then you
would drop the attachments to a source directory and start the
Informatica process to read from the flat files.

Anyone?

You would probably have to call some VB script that rips through an
account and saves attachments to a directory then a mapping would load
those files.

The only thing I see out there that can read exchange mailboxes is VB scripts.

Here is the latest I've received from Tom Oswald our regional rep/
support person:

Hi Jimmy,

We have a product called PowerExchange for Email. This can be
monitoring an inbox and look for emails that fit the criteria and then
PowerCenter will process them. The software can extract the
attachment. If you need to parse the attachment, that may require
additional software provided by our B2B DT (Data Transformation)
product. You may know this as the UDO option. Both of these are
additional licensed software.
