Idea for September's game

I know it's a bit early, but since it involves money, I figured the sooner I get it out there, the more likely people are going to be able to participate if we go with it and/or if they so desire.

 

I work for a catering company. If people are interested (and since this takes place in Constantinople), we do an awesome Mediterranean dinner I could order and have at the next game. Price would be starting at $6.00 per person with my employee discount. If people are interested in making it fancier, the price would go up, but even at just the $6.00, we'd be looking at seasoned kabobs served over roasted veggies; with diced cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, shredded lettuce, olives, hummus, dill spread and flatbread on the side (effectively, you can either go platter style or make a gyro style hot sandwich).

I was actually planning on suggesting belly dancers for the game after this one. I figured trying to do both at once might be a) difficult from a storyline perspective and b) more cost prohibitive.

If everyone's on board with this, the other things we could look at adding on are:

 

Couscous in toasted cumin vinaigrette- add $2.00 per person

Assorted dessert squares - add $1.00 per person

Chocolate dipped strawberries - add $2.50 per person

Baked pita chips w/3 dips (hummus, tomato-basil & artichoke-parmesan) - add $2.00 per person

 

If we go with adding any of these on, it will have to be for EVERYONE getting the meal. Id est, I can't get pita chips for three people, strawberries for two, desserts for six and couscous for one or anything like that.

Yes, but that's only if we add EVERYTHING. I would probably recommend against this as a) this would be kind of a ridiculous amount of food, and b) this would include multiple desserts per person.

I figured that would be the case for some people, that's why I wanted to speak up now, that way people can (try) to plan on working it into the budget if they want.

Also, the $6.00 "basic" entree meal really should be plenty of food if people don't want to do any of the extras I mentioned.

Hey Leora and/or Dan; since not everyone is on the boards, could we get an email out to all players inquiring whether or not they want to participate in dinner? I would really prefer to have a definative answer - yes OR no, not just the yesses - from everyone involved in the game no later than Thursday midday, so that I can get the order in before Friday, and I don't want anyone to show up and have missed out just because they're not part of the Google group. We also never decided how expansive we wanted this to be. I'm all for the cheap version because I think it'll be plenty of food, and more people are likely to be able to participate.

Also, can we clarify if the game is starting at 7:00 or 8:00 this time/from now on. I know there was some confusion over it last month, and I'm not aure where we stand on it going forward.
