I want to do some vehicles and they get really tricky because there are hundreds of slots and tabs etc. and the drawing done by the editors leaves a lot to be desired in most instances. Normally I stay away from changes in material thickness if I can. Distributors are running out of stock. I found some beautiful maple veneered mdf, it was the 3.516mm. I ordered a good stock from another supplier that is supposed to be 3.0mm. Should be here next week. Most of these files are written in a multitude of stock thickness making it a lot easier to do the work on my end. We will always have the need for extending or shortening lines, round corners, and square corners. Many are not color coded correctly for what needs to be done so all of that has to be checked and usually changed making the use of at least 50% of the files available too time consuming to bother with.

The wooden handle ultra-fine tip slotted tool is no longer produced, but is still available from a few online suppliers. It creates the next smallest crimp, but not a perfectly round coil. It is the lowest priced fine slotted tool at about $4 and the handle is comfortable to hold. I do wish the ultra-fine slotted needle was inserted farther into the wood as it would provide more leverage and the tip would be less likely to bend/break.

The Ultimate Savvy Slotted Tool from Quilled Creations (about $12) was released this past year. I was excited to order one thinking it would be just like my favorite Japanese tool. While the barrel looks very similar and the wide handle may prove to fit easily in your hand, the crimp it produces is not quite as small as the super-fine or ultra-fine tools, but the coil is round like the ones produced by the Japanese and standard tools.

So which tool should a new quiller purchase? There is no easy answer... for example, some say slotted tools are not as comfortable for them as finger rolling, and I know a needle tool enthusiast who has quilled with a corsage pin for decades without complaint.

I use a needle tool for some projects, the Japanese slotted tool for others, and the standard slotted tool at times... in fact, both the needle tool and Japanese slotted tool were indispensable while making projects for my paper jewelry book. Luckily, none of these tools are outrageously expensive and all should last a very long time when handled with respect. Perhaps give each one a try to determine your favorite.

A modifier, also known as a prefix (although in some languages it becomes a suffix), applies permanent changes to an item's statistics. It changes the name of an item by adding a prefix to the item's name (displayed when selected in the hotbar and in its tooltip), such as "Adept", "Godly", or "Broken" (e.g. "Demonic Minishark"). A complete list of all eighty-three (83) modifiers can be found below. Hovering the cursor over an item with a modifier in an inventory slot will show the modification details beneath the item's description.

These modifiers only apply when the weapon is being used. Weapons and tools that have no knockback cannot get modifiers that change knockback; examples include drills, the Magical Harp, and many guns (such as the Minishark).

For the purposes of mining and resource collection, the best modifier for tools such as pickaxes, hammers, and axes is Light. Note that for many tools the Legendary modifier gives the same tool speed increase as Light due to tool speed being rounded down to the next whole number. The Legendary modifier is superior in these cases as it also provides increased damage, critical strike chance, size, and knockback over the Light modifier, though the impact is relatively low given that mining tools are rarely used for combat.
