Railroad Commission has recommended Enforcement Action against EagleRidge. I saw it in one of their reports obtained thru an open records request. That is the only way to get any information from the city is thru an open records request and that is just pathetic.

If another blowout or fire happens with gas well drilling the city will be legally,  morally  and monetarily response because they are not protecting the citizens of Denton.
EagleRidge is a very bad player but the city is allowing them to "play" in our backyards. To EagleRidge a fine is just the cost of doing business and will not and has not changed their reckless behavior.

Wait until the drilling starts at Apogee stadium, think it is hard to get in and out of there now, what would happen if a blowout like this occurred during an event or the big tanker trucks are lined up to get in and out of the site?

Hi,
I agree it was a very good article. I believe that the City should address the lack of notice about the problem. The company had an Emergency Response Plan filed with the fire department. I have never seen it, but it should have addressed the notification process to authorities of problems. I hope the City will fine or prosecute for this issue, even if the RRC and TCEQ have jurisdiction over other issues. I don't know if there are other operational issues that the City could prosecute.

 6. List agency notification procedures.
7. List procedures for response to fires, medical emergencies
explosions, and natural emergencies

This is very alarming and I am disgusted. We cannot have a company operating that won't even let us know if there are serious problems that could lead to explosions and death.

Peggy's article was fantastic.  The main point for me was that it restated in plain detail how from day one of the consideration of revisions to the ordinance, Range Resources was running the show, and no matter what good we attempted to do, and no matter the total disregard Range Resources had/has for the welfare of the citizens of Denton - the entire effort was a charade meant to placate - and re-elect. Range Resources owns the city government lock, stock and barrel. The citizens of Denton never had a say in controlling anything that Range wanted to do or will do in the future.

A blow out on the UNT campus or other high profile location will stir the sleeping electorate.  But what price has to be paid before things change? Obviously, the powers that be are willing to take the gamble that it won't happen on their watch.  Unfortunately for most of them, their watch goes on and on.  Time to change that.
