Albanian HIV-positive dentist banned from practicing

According to iDnes.cz, an HIV-positive dentist was arrested at his
practice in Prague 12-Modřany on Wednesday by members of the
foreigners' police.

The man, a 26-year-old Albanian national, had been banned from
practicing dentistry last October after being diagnosed with the virus
but had ignored the ban.

Jiří Pekárek of the Česká stomatologická komora (Czech Dental Chamber)
told the ČTK news agency that HIV-positive dentists are usually
permitted to continue working and therefore assumed that the Albanian
man had been banned because he failed to follow appropriate hygiene
procedures.
